Greenie Football Defeats Victory Christian, 43-0

As Christ School headed into Fall Break, the Greenies football team had to take care of business against Victory Christian before enjoying a few, much-needed days off. Victory Christian came in to the game at 0-4 but couldn't be overlooked. Head Coach Tommy Langford had the team ready to play as they looked to improve upon their 4-1 record by getting off to a solid start. Just two minutes in to game, Navy Shuler '20 and Aydan White '20 connected on a six-yard score to start things off. On the ensuing kickoff, kicker Henry Duggins '20 forced a fumble which was recovered, setting the Greenies up with good field position once again.

Like clockwork, the Greenies marched down the field and were able to find the back of the end zone with Shuler connecting with White for their second score of the game. Heading in to the second quarter, the Greenies led comfortably, 14-0. Just 13 seconds into the second, Keyvaun Cobb '19 was able to intercept a pass and then score a rushing touchdown from two yards out a few seconds later.

The defense, led by Ian Adams '21, Ross Oakley '19, Read Sunn '20 and Japser Thomas '20 hounded Victory Christian, allowing the Greenies offense to get great field position. Shuler connected with White for a third time and Kaedin Robinson '19 for a 24-yard touchdown just four minutes in to the second quarter. The Greenies led 35-0, before Shuler ran in their final score of the game just before the half to head into the half, 43-0.

The second half started and finished with a running clock and every player on the roster saw time on the field. The Greenies will be on the road against CAA foe Rabun Gap-Nacoochee on Friday, October 5th, at 4:30 PM. Rabun Gap comes in to the game at 3-3, averaging 24 points per game.
