Getting Involved
What is Parent Council?
ALL parents and legal guardians of present Christ School students are automatically members of the Christ School Parent Council. The objectives of the Parent Council are to establish a helpful two-way communication between the parents of Christ School and the administration, to foster a relationship between each student’s family and the school that will benefit the student and help the school fulfill its mission, and to seek ways in which parents can be directly involved in making the students’ experiences at the school positive and productive.
The Parent Council is a group of volunteers dedicated to enhancing student, family, and staff life at Christ School. Members are led by an Executive Team consisting of President, Secretary, Advancement Staff, Form Parents and Committee Chairs that meet monthly. Parent Council activities and events are funded solely by donation. Parents and family members can be involved in many ways and may volunteer and choose on which committees they wish to serve.
The Parent Council helps promote Christ School to the general public, assists in securing financial support of parents for the school, assists in the recruiting of qualified students for the school, and in general, is an active and involved part of the Christ School community.
The governing body that directs the activities of the Parent Council is the Executive Committee, consisting of one day parent and one boarding parent per form, all committee chairs, a secretary and co-presidents. The Parent Council hosts general meetings on an as-needed basis virtually or on the Christ School campus and also coordinates the creation of various other committees that work to accomplish the objectives of the Parent Council. The bulk of communication from the Parent Council is via monthly Parent Letters sent by the parent representative for each grade which will include upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and general information.
