Soccer Falls to Providence Day on the Road

Though the Greenies fell to Providence Day, 3-1, on the road Thursday in Charlotte, the coaching staff remains incredibly confident in the team's ability. In an even first half, the Greenies gave up a goal in the first 20 minutes before letting in a blooper late.

The second half was all Greenies, as they outshot the Chargers, 6-0 in the second half. The Greenies were able to get on the scoreboard in the 71st minute off a goal from Connor Hall '20 (assist Jack Lee '21) and they continued to dominate possession and scoring chances but were unable to create any more goals.

When speaking to Coach Guy Campbell '00 about the game he said, "We played a new formation today and it was our first time getting to see this group play under pressure. I'm very happy with where we are right now and I thought everyone who played added something to the game. The boys almost executed our game plan coming in perfectly but two tough goals kept us from winning the game. That is just how soccer works some times. We will continue to work on creating chances in the final 3rd this week as we prepare for a very good West Forsyth High School."

That game will take place at home on August 24th at 5:30 P.M.
