Greenies hit the road to face top-seeded Charlotte Christian
Friday night's NCISAA Division I football playoff game between Christ School and Charlotte Christian will be livestreamed.
The first-round game hosted by the top-seeded Knights (8-1) kicks off at 7 p.m. and will be available for viewing at this link.
The fourth-seeded Greenies (8-1) are coming off their sixth consecutive win over Asheville School in "The Game." Sidney Gibbs '19 carried the ball 14 times for 181 yards and two touchdowns. His 10-yard scoring run at the 11:33 mark of the second quarter were the first points for Christ School in Saturday's 47-6 road win.
Fellow junior West Shuler '19 completed nine of his 14 passes for 120 yards. His two touchdown throws (16 and 28 yards) were caught by Aydan White '20. West also scored on a quarterback keeper. Hunter Vines '18 tacked on a short touchdown run, and made a 30-yard field goal.
Christ School did all its scoring in the second and third quarters. The defense held the Blues to 197 total yards. The Greenies have now beaten Asheville School (4-6) eight consecutive times, including regular-season and playoff games. It is the longest-ever winning streak for either side of the oldest high school football rivalry in the Carolinas. The annual winner of "The Game" takes ownership of the Fayssoux-Arbogast trophy for one year.
