There is no denying that NCISAA Division I teams play some of the best football in North Carolina period, and three Christ School players stood out among their peers this fall.
Khalil Conley ’24 (defensive back), Cayden Jones ’24 (linebacker), and Sam Browder ’25 (offensive lineman) have been selected to the 24-man NCISAA Division I all-state team.
Khalil will sign in less than a month with the University of North Carolina. He made 32 tackles (five for a loss), two interceptions, and had seven pass deflections this season.
Cayden became the first-ever Greenie football player to commit to Alabama and backed it up with 78 tackles (11 for a loss) and four sacks. He passed for a 69-yard touchdown to Khalil in their final home game (a 46-0 playoff win over Charlotte Country Day on Nov. 3) and had six rushing or receiving touchdowns. This is Cayden's third straight appearance on the all-state team.
Sam’s blocking on the left side of the line freed up freshman Mason Holtzclaw ’27 to throw for more than 1,500 yards and for senior Kaden Brown ’24 to surpass 1,000 yards in rushing.
Christ School (4-7) beat NCISAA Division II state champion Asheville School for the 12th straight year and won three of its last four games.
