The junior from Rockville, Md., is as reliable as defenders come for Christ School varsity soccer and Brendan often gives the team an emotional spark from the back as well.
Coaches at the 48th annual Ravenscroft Invitational recognized the Greenie’s intangibles by selecting him to the all-tournament team Saturday.
Christ School (4-6-0) went 1-2 in the three-day tournament with a 2-0 shutout of NCHSAA 4-A public school Wake Forest Rolesville and a pair of overtime losses to Wake Christian Academy and Cannon School, the latter of which came down to PKs.
Wells Edwards ’25 scored both goals Friday against Rolesville and had three overall in Raleigh. Other goal scorers for the weekend were Carter Compton ’24 and Ethan Rose ’24. Assists were given out by Bradley Campbell ’24 (two), Benjie Bernstein ’26 (one), and Carter (one).
Ben Yang ’24 made 10 saves in the Rolesville game for his second shutout of the season.
The next game for Christ School’s JV and varsity is Friday’s home doubleheader against Carmel Christian, which begins with the JV at 5:30 p.m.
