Dawson Reeves '24 Makes HighSchoolOT All-State Team in 3 Events

Dawson Reeves ’24 broke out in a big way at last month’s NCISAA Division I Championship Meet.

His performance over the course of two days at Cary Academy is still being rewarded.

Dawson has been named to the HighSchoolOT all-state team for the outdoor season in three distance events (the 800-meter run, 1,600 meters, and 3,200 meters). The same three he won at the NCISAA state meet, along with making up one-fourth of Christ School’s first place 3,200 relay.

Christ School won the Division I team trophy on the strength of Dawson’s points and the individual state championships were the first of his career in outdoor track. He graduated as the school record-holder in the 2,000-meter steeplechase (6:06.71) and the second-fastest individual all-time in the 800 (1:54.19), 1,600 (4:07.01), mile (4:08.45), 3,200 (8:57.47), and the 5,000 meters for cross country (15:03.23).

Dawson has signed to run college cross country and track for Duke University.
