Combine a fast course with excellent competition and you get a morning like Christ School had at the Great American Cross Country Festival.
Percentages do not get any better – every one of the five Greenies who finished Saturday’s race in Cary, N.C., did so with personal-record times.
Rocky Hansen ‘23 blazed through the WakeMed Soccer Park course with the best 5-kilometer time in school history (15 minutes, 28.00 seconds) which works out to an average of 4:58 per mile.
He placed 12th overall as an individual, and Christ School (331 points) was 13th team-wise in the Great American’s Race of Champions behind only two other North Carolina schools, meet champion Mount Tabor (100) and Weddington (234).
Strong races were also turned in by Dawson Reeves ’24 (22nd place, 15:48.80), Jack Cross ‘22 (93rd, 16:44.40), Eyob Gill ’24 (115th, 17:03.90), and Kahzi Sealey ’23 (145th, 17:45.00).
