Swimming Second in Season's First Meet

Sam Jarrett ’22 had the distinction of being a Carolinas Athletic Association champion last year and more big things could be in store for his senior season.

Sam swam to a first-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5 minutes, 0.95 seconds) at Tuesday's season-opening meet between the Greenies, Cannon School, Carolina Day, and host Asheville School.

Christ School placed second as a team. Sam came in second in the 100-yard butterfly (54.77), while Frank Howden ’22 was the runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle (49.79) and 200-yard individual medley (2:00.01). The Greenies had the second place 400-yard freestyle relay (3:32.66), a team consisting of Sam, Frank, Martin Moran ’24, and Daniel Du ’22.
