Take away 20.2 points per game and any offense will struggle to find its flow.

Christ School varsity basketball was affected greatly by the absence of leading scorer Emanuel Richards ’23 in the lineup Wednesday but fought through it.

Bryson Cokley ’24 led the way with 17 points, Johno Pierce ’23 had 10, and the Greenies finally put away pesky J.L. Mann (S.C.) in the latter stages of the second half for a 44-32 home win.

Anthony Robinson ’23 added seven points, Diego Rojas Bowe ’25 scored six, and Zack Myers ’24 had four.

The Greenies (4-2) led wire-to-wire, but it was close for a while. The score was 7-5 at the end of the first quarter and 19-17 at halftime. Back-to-back 3-pointers by Bryson and Johno were part of a 12-2 run to close the third quarter.

JV Greenies 59, J.L. Mann 29

Wednesday’s fourth quarter for the JV Greenies will be hard, if not impossible, to duplicate.

It was that good.

Cooper Perone ’24 (15 points), Carter Compton ’24 (12) and Truett Compton ’25 (10) reached double figures and Christ School outscored J.L. Mann, 26-0, over the final eight minutes.

Other scorers for the Greenies were T.J. Hamilton ’24 (eight points), Kennedy Achugamonu ’23 (six), Reeves Cates ’24 (two), Ty Dixon ’23 (two), Brewer Nitcher ’25 (two), and James Mennell '24 (two).
