Baseball Season Preview
Last year the Greenies welcomed new baseball Head Coach Cody Geyer to the Christ School community. His push for hard work, determination, and max effort led the Greenies to win the conference and advance to the NCISAA State Quarterfinals, finishing the year 19-4. While a few fantastic players graduated in 2017, the team returns quite a few successful players, including All-Conference performers McKinley Bell '18, Jackson Hipp '18, Hunter Macomber '19, and Max LeCroy '19.
"We have a great group of returning guys," said Coach Geyer. "They have shown me so much over the last year and their improvement from last Spring to today has been incredible. We have lofty goals for the season, and want to continue to work towards those."
The Greenies play much of their first half of the season on the road, traveling first to play in the RussMatt Invitational (March 10-12) in Orlando, FL before facing eight 3A opponents in the next month of the season. The Greenies are looking to repeat as CAA Champions and advance further in the playoffs this season.
"I tell my guys to dream big," Geyer said. "They want to achieve more this season, which is great, but it will be the hard work, determination, and max effort that will get them there."
If the teams two scrimmage wins last week against Rosman High School and East Burke High School are any indication of the team's potential for this season, it's going to be a fun year for Greenie Baseball.
