Christ School Announces New Head Football Coach
After seven years at the helm of the Greenies football program, Mark Moroz will be leaving Christ School. In his time at School, Coach Moroz amassed a 62-16 record, secured three NCISAA State runner-up finishes, and built the program to encompass over 70 players between the JV and varsity levels. Coach Moroz is now headed to the Episcopal High School in Virginia. On behalf of the administration, parents, and students, we wish Mark and his wife Liz the very best of luck and thank them for their commitment and dedication to Christ School.
With his departure, Christ School is proud to announce Tommy Langford as our new Head Coach. Langford came to Christ School at the beginning of the 2017 season. He has assisted with the Quarterbacks and Linebackers and served as the Special Teams Coordinator and Strength and Conditioning coach.
Prior to his time at Christ School, Langford spent four years working with the team's defense at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL . During that time, IMG sported a 46-3 record, including three back-to-back top five appearances in the national rankings. Many of his players attended top-notch collegiate football programs, including Alabama, Clemson, Texas A&M, UCF, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Langford worked at the Under Armour Underclassmen All-American Combine, the NFL Combine, and recently served as Head Coach of the 2018 Food City Border Bowl for the North Carolina All-Stars.
Langford's wealth of experience also includes training some of the NFL's most notable players, including LB C.J. Mosley (Ravens), LB Ryan Shazier (Steelers), and WR Adam Thielen (Vikings). Langford became Thielen's trainer after their time as teammates at DII Minnesota State. Thielen was named to the Pro Bowl after leading the Vikings' receiving corps to the NFC Championship game.
Langford couldn't be more excited about bringing that experience to the Christ School Community. "The opportunity to be the head coach of the Christ School football program allows me to fulfill my goal to be a leader of young men, in the game I love," Langford said. "I will bring an unwavering ability to do all that I can to make the football team better, and bring a passion for all things associated with the program on and off the field."
Christ School couldn't be more excited to welcome Langford to lead our young men. "I want to set the standard for the Greenie student athlete," Langford said. "Christ School is a special place, and I am so proud to be a part of this community and to lead this program."
