Greenies Basketball Awarded #3 Seed in NCISAA Playoffs
On Sunday, the day after they defeated Veritas Christian Academy 83-22, Christ School Basketball was awarded a #3 seed by the NCISAA for their regular season performance. The Greenies finished the regular season with a record of 22-12, with impressive wins over Spartanburg Day, Norcross, Wheeler, and Providence Day. Christ School finished with a 9-1 record in 3A NCISAA games, propelling them to a first round bye in the tournament. Their first game will be against the winner of #6 HPCA, who the Greenies defeated 93-70 back in January, and #11 Durham Academy, who finished 20-5 in the regular season.
The 2nd round game will take place in the Greenie Dome on either Friday or Saturday of this week. "The coaching staff is so proud of the guys for what they have accomplished so far this year," said Head Coach Jeff Depelteau. "At the beginning of the season, we set out to get a first round bye, win the conference and win a State Championship. We have achieved two of the three goals we set out to achieve. Now, it is time to make a run in the playoffs."
