Lacrosse Defeats Charlotte Country Day 16-9, On to State Championship

 

For the third consecutive year the Greenies lacrosse team will advance to the State Championship, this time after defeating Charlotte Country Day School 16-9. After being awarded the #1 seed and earning the right to host the playoffs, the team took advantage by getting out to 9-3 halftime lead. Just minutes into the third quarter, Davis Lindsey '20 scored his 6th and 7th goals to make it 12-3.

The Greenies outscored the Bucs 5-1 in the third quarter to take an insurmountable lead in the 4th, and were able to rest their starters in preparation for the State Championship game against Providence Day School on Saturday. The Greenies will head into that game with a 16-3 record and face a 17-4 Mustang team. Providence Day has won 13 of their last 14 games, with their only loss being to Christ School on April 21st.
