Varsity Tennis Defeats Spartanburg Day 7-2
On a brisk and windy Wednesday afternoon, the Greenies welcomed Spartanburg Day to their courts in a match-up of two very talented teams. Spartanburg Day came in on a winning streak and the Greenies were looking to get 9-1 on the season. They did just that, sweeping the Spartans in doubles, 8-6, 8-1 and 8-2.
In singles, Stephen Saye '18 continued to push himself by defeating Spartanburg Day's #1. After falling in the first set, he battled back, winning the second set 6-0, and winning in the tiebreaker, 14-12. Other winners including #3 Aldo Mell '18, #4 William Saye '20, and #6 Kevin McCarthy '19.
