Christ School’s mission to “produce educated men of good character, prepared for both scholastic achievement in college and productive citizenship in adult society” would not be possible without beacons in the school community.
Six such beacons were celebrated Thursday as the newest inductees into Christ School’s chapter of the National Honor Society. Jack Fitch ’20, John English Hulsey ’20, Henry Muller ’20, Jack Slattery ’20, Jack Sutton ’20, and Wyatt Wilson ’20 now join 26 other boys from the Class of 2020 who were inducted last spring.
Academics, character, and service are all necessary for membership in the National Honor Society. Every boy must maintain a weighted 3.75 grade-point average, display honorable character (a clean judiciary and honor record), and dedication to the service of others (going above and beyond Christ School’s yearly requirement of 15 hours).
The Class of 2020’s full list of National Honor Society members is in alphabetical order – Jack Adams, Justice Ajogbor, Cameron Akers, Jackson Bewley, Connor Booher, Aaron Chen, Joseph Coladonato, James Coleman, Thomas Doss, Jack DuBose, Henry Duggins, Max Field, Jack Fitch, Wesley Garbee, Miles Gardner, Andrew Hammel, Jim Huang, John English Hulsey, Richard Lytle, Michael Mahoney, Max Masiello, Kevin Masson, Henry Muller, Steve Papakonstantinou, Max Redic, William Saye, Patrick Shea, Jack Slattery, Jack Sutton, Porter Thompson, Wyatt Wilson, and Richard Zantzinger.
Dean of Academics and Curriculum Greg Townsend, Director of Service Learning Olga Mahoney, and Dr. Brent Harris spoke during Thursday’s induction ceremony in St. Joseph’s Chapel. The six new inductees were each introduced and presented with their certificate.
