Academic Awards Headline Day Before Graduation

George Robbins '24 is the winner of this year's Head of School's Cup.

George Robbins ’24 brought an energy and genuine spirit to campus that will be missed.

“It is hard to remember or imagine a Christ School without this year’s recipient of the Head of School’s Cup,” Dr. Sean Jenkins said Saturday at the Academic Awards program in Mebane Field House.

“This young man embodies the best of what Christ School believes young men can be. He is academically competent, personally driven, and socially magnanimous. He is grounded in faith, caring towards his friends, serious about his hobbies, and diligent in his work. Every one of us benefitted from his joyful spirit and generosity.”

George is from Brevard, N.C., and the Cuningham House Prefect plans to play soccer at The College of Wooster (Ohio). George’s rightly deserved honor capped Saturday’s Academic Awards, which are held every graduation weekend in the Greenie Dome.

The year-end awards are an acknowledgement of Christ School’s broad college preparatory curriculum and expansive student activity offerings as well as a celebration of boys who exemplify the school’s four pillars – Academic Rigor, Leadership, Spirituality, and the Dignity of Manual Labor.
