The next pass that Aydan White ’20 bats down or intercepts will be as Christ School’s first NFL player in 43 years.
Saturday saw the Asheville native and Greenie alumnus graduate to the very highest level of professional football, signing an undrafted free agent deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Congratulations, Aydan!
Aydan played five college seasons as a cornerback for N.C. State and did not allow a touchdown as a junior or senior. He made 159 career tackles, nine interceptions, and was a first-team All-ACC selection in 2022. Opposing teams simply stopped throwing at him after that breakout season.
Aydan still holds the Christ Schol record for career receiving yardage (1,846) and was an all-state player at defensive back and wide receiver as a junior and senior in high school.
The only two other Greenies to ever be drafted or sign with an NFL team are Carter Wiley '82 and Jim Martin '57.
