Creedmoor, North Carolina.
Population, 4,800. And now better known around Arden as home to the latest two college recruits for Christ School football.
Wide receiver T.J. Hamilton (Cornell) and defensive end Bruce White ’24 (N.C. State) have each announced on their social media that they have verbally committed. They are the 15th and 16th Greenies from the Class of 2024 to commit or sign to play college sports.
In his post, T.J. thanked Christ School for “helping me tap into my potential and giving me the tools to become a young man.” Across all sports, there have now been seven Greenies who have committed to Ivy League programs since 2020.
Big catches in big spots for the Greenies defined T.J.’s senior year.
Memorably, his 23-yard touchdown reception on fourth down and with 23.9 seconds to go in the first half completely flipped the momentum of the Asheville School game. Christ School capitalized in the second half to win “The Game” for the 12th consecutive year, 20-7.
T.J. had a touchdown catch and an interception in the quarterfinals of the NCISAA Division I state playoffs as the Greenies blanked visiting Charlotte Country Day, 46-0. T.J. was named to the All-Western Football Conference team on the strength of 20 receptions for 461 yards and four touchdowns.
Bruce received a preferred walk-on offer from the Wolfpack last weekend while on a visit with some Christ School teammates.
He made 21 tackles (five for a loss) last fall. Bruce will have a couple familiar faces in the locker room as there are already two Greenie alumni on the N.C. State roster – Aydan White ’20 and Zack Myers ’23.
Bruce expressed gratitude to his family and friends, including younger brother Jayden ‘26, in his social media post.
