High school basketball fans, the Greenie Dome is the place to be on Saturday, Dec. 9.
Christ School (5-1) has regained its spot as the No. 1 NCISAA team in the latest state rankings from Phenom Hoops just in time for the first-ever Asheville Classic showcase.
In all, there are four on-campus games scheduled:
Local school A.C. Reynolds and Collins (Ga.) play at 1 p.m., followed by Hendersonville and Lancaster (S.C.) at 2:30. That game will be notable for the individual play of Hendersonville's Malachi Simpson and Lancaster's Jordan Watford, who are Division I prospects.
Rakease Passmore has committed to Kansas University and formerly played for A.C. Reynolds. He will return to Asheville along with the rest of his Combine Academy teammates for a game against United Faith at 4 p.m. Finally, the Greenies take on NCISAA 4-A foe Charlotte Christian to wrap up the day at 5:30 p.m.
Admission will be charged at the door (card only). Tickets are $8 per game or $20 for a full-day pass. Christ School students get in free and there will be a food truck to serve fans.
