Christ School junior Colin Breiter ’25 won the first event of the Western North Carolina High Disc Golf League in a sudden death playoff Wednesday.
Colin threw a round of 4-under (50) at the private Avery's Spring Disc Golf Course in Arden, tying for the best score in the Varsity division.
In sudden death, he took the win with a birdie on the first playoff hole over Logan Stubbs of FernLeaf Community Charter School. Ben Hinchliffe of West Henderson and Brayden Tody of FernLeaf tied for third place.
Colin is from Morganton, N.C., and has been playing disc golf at Christ School since his eighth-grade year. He won the overall high school disc golf league in the fall of 2022. He also participates in sanctioned Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) tournaments as an amateur.
The next event in the high school league will be Wednesday at Owen High School in Black Mountain, N.C.
