CHARLOTTE - Christ School cross country sized up some of its stiffest competition for a possible three-peat Tuesday, less than a month out from the NCISAA 4-A state meet.
The Greenies have something positive to build on, from a team and individual perspective.
Duke recruit Dawson Reeves ’24 (15:26.00) was the first-place runner in the Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association Invitational at McAlpine Creek Park. Eyob Gill ’24 (third place, 15:53.20), Dallas Reeves ‘27 (eighth, 16:48.00), Luke Parrish ’24 (11th, 17:04.30), and Patrick Wang (14th, 17:08.90) also counted towards the Greenies’ winning team score of 36 points.
Charlotte Providence Day (42) was close behind in second place and Forsyth Country Day (82) was third. Providence Day was the preseason No. 1 team in state rankings from HighSchoolOT.com, even though the Greenies are the two-time defending champions in NCISAA 4-A. This year's state meet is Oct. 27 in Cary, N.C.
