Cross Country Remains Unbeaten Locally after CAA Preview Meet

Cross country

The next time that Christ School runners race their home course, it will be for a conference championship.

The Greenies have to like their chances in light of Tuesday’s Carolinas Athletic Association Preview Meet.

Placing all five scoring runners in the top-10, Christ School easily won the cross country meet with 18 points, followed by Asheville School (50), Asheville Christian Academy (79), Rabun Gap (106), and Carolina Day (126).

Conditions were ideal, but Christ School has been good in all kinds of weather this season and remains unbeaten against competition from western North Carolina and the NCISAA.

Dawson Reeves ’24 (first place, 16:58.97) and Rocky Hansen ’23 (16:59.18) went 1-2 on Tuesday, followed by Jack Cross ’22 (third, 17:16.93), Eyob Gill ’24 (fourth, 17:21.81), and Jackson Burch ’22 (eighth, 17:51.30).

The CAA Championship Meet is scheduled for Oct. 20. Photos from Tuesday can be found at this link.
