BALTIMORE - Saturday was quite the season opener for Davis Lindsey ’20 and Loyola University Maryland lacrosse.
Davis gave out two assists and scored a goal in the Greyhounds’ 12-7 home win over the top-ranked team in the country and defending national champion, Maryland.
Loyola (1-0) capitalized on 12 of its 26 shots. Both of Davis’s assists came in the third quarter and his goal was in the fourth with 11:18 remaining to play. It was the first loss since 2021 for the Terrapins, who were 18-0 last season.
The Christ School alumnus had 20 assists as a sophomore and first became a Loyola starting attacker for the final three games of the 2022 season. He holds the Greenies’ record for career points (337) and is second in all-time goals (177) and assists (160).
The next game for Davis and the Greyhounds is next Saturday at home against Johns Hopkins.
