The streak continues!
Dawson Reeves ’24 has been named the Western North Carolina Runner of the Year for the 2023 cross country season by the Asheville Citizen-Times. It is the third straight year that a boy from Christ School has won the award and the sixth time in the past seven years.
Dawson’s hometown is Canton, N.C. He has committed to Duke University, is a two-time Carolinas Athletic Association champion, and the only four-time all-state runner in the history of the Greenie program. Dawson was the runner-up in the NCISAA 4-A state meet the past two years. His personal record for 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) is 15 minutes, 3.23 seconds.
Teammate Eyob Gill ’24 joined Dawson on the Citizen-Times All-WNC Team. Eyob was the CAA runner-up and placed third in the state meet this season. His PR for the 5K is 15:46.80. Eyob has committed to run in college for Howard University.
Dawson and Eyob will be part of an all-school signing ceremony Friday in Mebane Field House. So far, 12 student-athletes from Christ School’s Class of 2024 have made their college choices.
