What kind of season has it been for Christ School basketball?
All five starters have been named to the all-conference team for the Carolinas Athletic Association, the best representation the Greenies have seen in 14 years.
Emanuel Richards ’23 received the most votes from CAA coaches, making him Christ School’s first CAA Player of the Year since 2020. The senior guard from Irmo, S.C., is All-CAA for the second time in his career, as is senior center Anthony Robinson ’23.
Three other backcourt players for Christ School (28-4) guards are first-time selections to the All-CAA team – Jamari Briggs ’24, Bryson Cokley ’24, and Keenan Wilkins ’24.
Twenty-eight wins is the most by a Greenie basketball team in 10 years. Christ School shared the CAA championship with Asheville School and Rabun Gap, splitting with both teams in their head-to-head meetings.
Four of the all-conference players average double figures in scoring – Keenan (13.8 ppg.), Jamari (12.6 ppg.), Emanuel (11.7 ppg.), and Bryson (10.1 ppg.). Anthony easily leads the way in rebounding (8.7 rpg.) and blocks (1.5 bpg.). Keenan is distributing a team-high 5.8 assists per game.
By virtue of a double bye, the Greenies await either Charlotte Christian (10-18) or Charlotte Country Day (19-12) in Saturday’s quarterfinals of the NCISAA 4-A playoffs. Christ School will host and the game time has been set for 6 p.m.
