With one year to go, Garrett Clapsaddle ’21 has made his mark at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
The Christ School alumnus, pictured third from right, was one of the big winners at Wednesday night’s year-end athletic awards ceremony in Kings Point, N.Y., receiving the Kenneth Graff Memorial Award. The Graff award is presented each year to a USMMA baseball player and soccer player who exemplifies fierce competitiveness, regimental honor and integrity, and family pride.
Garrett is a rising senior catcher who started all 43 games for the Mariners (27-16) this past baseball season and led them in base hits (46), while batting .293 with 35 RBIs, 10 doubles, two triples, and two home runs.
