Christ School’s starters watched from the best seats in the house Tuesday night.
The Collins brothers did their best to keep everyone on the bench entertained.
Eighth-grader Mason Collins ‘28 (18 points) and Madden Collins ’25 (16) combined for 34 points, enough to win an 83-33 home game with Carolina Day on their own.
Of course, the siblings from Columbia, S.C., had help.
George Mason recruit Bryson Cokley ’24 was one of the Greenie starters who saw limited minutes, but not before scoring 12 points. USC Upstate recruit Jamari Briggs ’24 had nine points, followed by Jozohn Price ’24 (eight), T.J. Hamilton ’24 (six), Mikey Wilkins ’25 (six), Keenan Wilkins ’24 (four), and Lleyton Thomas-Johnson ’24 (four).
All of Mason’s points came in the second, third, or fourth quarters. He knocked down three 3-pointers off assists from his brother, who was running the point.
The Greenies (8-1, 1-0) were up 50-16 at halftime after a runner from T.J. that just beat the second quarter horn. Tuesday was the first Carolinas Athletic Association game for Christ School and the Wildcats (2-4, 0-1), who will play again Jan. 23 in south Asheville.
