Greenies Get No. 2 Seed for State Basketball Playoffs

Christ School (28-4) has received the No. 2 seed for the NCISAA 4-A state basketball playoffs and has a double bye through to the quarterfinals.

The first game for the Greenies will be Feb. 18 at home against one of three teams – No. 7 Charlotte Country Day (19-12), unseeded High Point Wesleyan Christian (9-17), or unseeded Charlotte Christian (9-18). The game time has not yet been determined.

Christ School beat Wesleyan by 22 points and Christian by two points in regular-season games.

The Greenies have reached the quarterfinals of the NCISAA playoffs 19 of the past 20 years. They closed out the regular season Friday with a 71-35 rout of the visiting South Charlotte Thunder.

Scorers for the team were Emanuel Richards ’23 (18 points), Anthony Robinson ’23 (10), Bryson Cokley ’24 (nine), Keenan Wilkins ’24 (seven), Jamari Briggs ’24 (six), Jo Ahart ’25 (five), Matthew Pethel ’23 (five), Ty Dixon ’23 (four), Diego Rojas Bowe ’25 (two), T.J. Hamilton ’24 (two), and Lleyton Thomas-Johnson '24 (two).
