Saturday was a dreary day weather-wise in the Asheville area, but the rain and mud did not hinder Christ School cross country.
Rocky Hansen ’24 (16 minutes, 3.84 seconds), Dawson Reeves ’24 (16:47.61), and Jackson Burch ’22 (17:10.02) were the first, second, and third-place runners in a Carolinas Athletic Association meet at Asheville Christian Academy.
Rocky’s time is a personal record for 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) and only 17 seconds off the ACA course record run by 2019 state champion Andrew Hammel ’19.
The Greenies (38) were second in Saturday’s team standings behind ACA (35). Jack Cross ‘22 (14th place, 19:40.27) and Rhodes Feild ‘23 (18th, 20:00.13) also counted as scoring runners for Christ School. Full results from the meet have been posted at this link.
