Greenville (S.C.) County Schools needed a 16th team for this weekend’s preseason jamboree and Christ School football was all too happy to answer the call.
The Greenies are the only North Carolina program in the event, which will be spread out over Friday and Saturday at Furman University's Paladin Stadium. They will scrimmage Greenville Senior High Academy on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $9 at the gate and may be purchased in advance (plus service charges) through Ticketmaster’s website under “Greenville County Football Jamboree.”
Aside from intrasquad games, Saturday will be the first preseason scrimmage for Christ School in five years, an anomaly caused in part by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Greenies went 6-6 last season, advancing to the semifinals of the NCISAA Division I state playoffs.
