Eight individuals and three relay teams will represent Christ School in Saturday’s Buncombe County swim meet.
The Greenies hit the pool Thursday at Asheville School, swimming qualifying heats against other Buncombe private schools. Saturday’s championship races will include all county schools, private and public.
Frank Howden ‘22 is the top seed in the 100-yard breaststroke with the fastest time by any Buncombe swimmer (1 minute, 4.56 seconds). The sophomore will also compete for the Greenies in the 200-yard individual medley. The other individual qualifiers for Christ School are Aidan Galpin ’21 (100-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle), Daniel Neuman ’21 (50-yard freestyle), Charlie Thomas ’21 (50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle), Sam Jarrett ’22 (100-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle), Grayson Scott ’21 (100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard butterfly), Daniel Du ’22 (100-yard backstroke and 100-yard freestyle), and Colin Brazas ’22 (100-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle).
Relay-wise, the teams that have qualified are the Medley relay, 200-yard freestyle relay, and 400-yard freestyle relay.
The Buncombe County meet is Saturday inside the new Buncombe County School Aquatics Center on the campus of T.C. Roberson High. The meet begins at 6 p.m.
