Justice Ajogbor ’20 may be a gentle giant, beloved around Christ School for his polite and soft-spoken demeanor. The 6-foot-10 Harvard University recruit has another side to him though, one which attacks the rims in Mebane Field House with some very bad intentions.
A half-dozen dunks were part of Justice’s game-high 23 points Friday, De’Ante Green ’22 added 20 points, and the Greenies broke open a 55-38 Senior Night win over Asheville School in the fourth quarter.
The remainder of the points for Christ School (10-11) came from Charlie Browder ’21 (four), Adam Keever ’20 (three), Zack Myers ’23 (three), and Drew Redmond ’21 (two).
Much like the Greenies’ first game with Asheville School (a 62-39 Christ School win on Dec. 14), Friday’s rematch was nip and tuck early on. The score was 9-9 at the end of the first quarter, 21-19 in the Greenies’ favor at halftime, and they led, 34-31, entering the fourth quarter. Christ School opened the fourth with a 13-0 scoring run, keyed largely by Justice and De’Ante. In all, the Greenies outscored the Blues, 21-7, over the course of the final eight minutes.
Friday began with a pregame recognition for varsity basketball’s five seniors – Justice, Adam, Ray Faison ’20, Jack Knott ’20, and Michael Mahoney ’20. They were presented with framed photos and then rewarded again as the starting-five that coach Matt Cioce ‘13 put on the floor.
Christ School has less than 24 hours to savor the win. The Greenies will be back on the floor in their home uniforms for Saturday’s 4 p.m. nonconference game with High Point Wesleyan Christian Academy.

JV basketball’s third win of the season was the most convincing one yet.

Eight other Greenies found their way into the scoring column – Cooper Perone ’24 (eight points), Cayden Jones ’23 (six), Will Purvis ’22 (five), Grant Haldeman ’21 (four), Lennox Cummings ’21 (four), Sam Chandler ’22 (three), Sanford Gardner ’22 (two), and Tyler Bell ’21 (two).
The JV team improves its overall record to 3-8 ahead of Saturday’s 2:30 p.m. home game with High Point Wesleyan Christian Academy.
