Hit Netflix Show Makes Visit by Richard V. Reeves Even More Prescient

Christ School is honored to host Richard V. Reeves, acclaimed author of “Of Boys and Men: Why the Modern Male Is Struggling, Why It Matters, and What to Do about It,” and a leading voice on the challenges and opportunities facing young men today.

Mr. Reeves' visit on April 24 as part of Family Weekend comes at a pivotal moment, as conversations sparked by the hit Netflix series “Adolescence” bring renewed national attention to the struggles boys face in education, mental health, and identity formation.

Mr. Reeves’ talk, entitled "Rethinking Boyhood: Education, Identity, and the Modern World," will explore the societal shifts affecting young men and offer insights into how educators, parents, and communities can better support their growth. His work has been widely recognized for shedding light on the academic and social gaps boys experience, and his expertise is particularly relevant to Christ School’s mission as a leading all-boys institution.

“Richard Reeves’ research is groundbreaking in understanding what boys need to thrive in today’s world,” said Assistant Head of School for External Affairs Betsy Ellis P’24. “With the national conversation around ‘Adolescence’ and the digital challenges boys face, there is no better time to bring his voice into our community.”

This free event will take place April 24 at 7 p.m. in Christ School’s Pingree Auditorium and is open to the broader community.
