Spring Training is one of the most romanticized times of the year for baseball fans.
So, you can imagine how Christ School alumnus Ian Mayers ’14 feels right in the thick of it, helping the New York Yankees prepare for their season.
Ian began his job as a Performance Science Assistant with the Yankees about a month ago.
The most storied franchise in Major League Baseball – the Yankees have won the World Series 27 times – operates out of Tampa for Spring Training.
Ian came to Christ School from The Bahamas and was an all-conference player for the Greenies. He continued his career at Brevard College and then Belmont Abbey, where he graduated with degrees in Business Administration and Sport and Fitness Administration/Management.
Finally, he received his Masters degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science from the University of Tampa.
The opening day of the 2022 season for MLB teams is April 7.
