Jackson Ogren '22 Gets Commercial Pilots License

Another Greenie gets his wings!

Congratulations to Jackson Ogren ’22, who became a licensed commercial pilot Sunday by completing his FAA checkride.

The checkride involves an extensive verbal examination from a FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE), who then rides along in the plane as the pilot is required to perform certain maneuvers.

Making this accomplishment even more impressive is that Jackson is a rising junior at Baylor University. He is currently in summer school to become a certified flight instructor.

Jackson’s hometown is Mills River, N.C., and the words from his Senior Speech ring especially true now.

“Being here is not easy,” Jackson said two years ago. “But if it was easy, you would never develop into the man you strive to be."
