The newest position for the senior from Brevard, N.C., is college recruit. Jake announced his verbal commitment to Asbury University in Wilmore, Ky., on Sunday through his social media.
Last spring, Jake batted .419 with 13 RBIs, five doubles, and two triples for the Co-Carolinas Athletic Association champion Greenies (16-6). He was walked 14 times and stole seven bases.
Jake is the ninth senior from the Class of 2024 to make a college sports commitment and the second baseball player along with pitcher Charlie Collins '24 (Western Carolina University).
