One of the first steps to manifesting a dream is putting it out there with clear, precise language.
Christ School alumnus Jamal Hutchison ’23 checked that box last week in video distributed to the PGA Tour’s millions of social media followers.
"I'm Jamal Hutchison. I'm from Fletcher, North Carolina," the Greenie said in the introduction to clips of him practicing with two-time major winner Webb Simpson.
Jamal went on to share his aspirations of one day playing on the PGA Tour (which was in Charlotte for the Wells Fargo Championship) and talked about the influence of his father, Robert P'23, in regards to both his playing career and life in general.
Simpson is an ambassador for the Wells Fargo Mentorship Program, which seeks to grow diversity in golf. Jamal just finished his freshman season at N.C. Central University. He was last year’s team MVP for Christ School in addition to being an all-state and all-conference player.
Robert Hutchison has been an assistant coach for Greenie basketball’s back-to-back state championships in 2023 and 2024.
