Jo Ahart '25 Commits to Newberry College Basketball

A good weekend for Christ School basketball turned great on Sunday.

Jo Ahart ’25 became the team’s third senior to make a college commitment. The 6-foot-9 forward from Greer, S.C., shared through his Instagram that he will play at the next level for his home state's Newberry College.

Jo thanked his parents for their sacrifices and support in his commitment post as well as Greenie coaches and teammates for “laying the foundation and pushing me to be the best version of myself.”

Jo has been part of the last two NCISAA 4-A state-championship runs by Christ School as a sophomore and junior. But neither of those teams had the buzz at this point in the season that the current group does.

The Greenies are ranked No. 30 in the country by MaxPreps and are 4-0 with a 28-point average margin of victory after Saturday’s 74-42 blowout of Carmel Christian in the Phenom Hoops Tip-Off Classic.

Off the court, Jo serves as a Proctor in Gardner House.
