
CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee - Judson Meyers ’25 found himself in a unique position Saturday, racing a merciless clock and competitors he could not see with his own eyes.
The University of Pennsylvania recruit’s focus and conditioning won the day as well as a gold medal from the USRowing Indoor National Championships.
More than 1,500 rowers from 118 clubs raced at five satellite sites across the country. Judson was seated on a machine in southeast Tennessee when he won the men's U23 2,000-meter race in 6 minutes, 24.80 seconds. The runner-up had a time of 6:27.90 and there were 51 overall rowers in the age division.
Saturday was Judson's first national indoor competition and the height of the winter rowing season, too. Judson is from Asheville and one of the Prefects in South Carolina House.
