Maybe it was the abnormal start time or some other factor, but Christ School JV basketball was never completely in sync Friday.
The Greenies were still dialed in enough to finish their season on a positive note with a 41-27 win at Asheville School.
Lennox Cummings ’21 scored 12 of his team-high 16 points in the first half. Cooper Perone ’24 added eight points, and Mitchell Donahoo ’21 had six. Christ School (4-11) increased its lead to double digits late in the first quarter and was never seriously threatened again. The Blues had just eight team points at halftime of an early-afternoon game that tipped off at 3:45 p.m.
The rest of the scorers for the Greenies were Grant Haldeman ‘21 (three points), Jamal Hutchinson ‘23 (two), Sanford Gardner (two), Cayden Jones ’23 (two), and Ben Wiznitzer ‘22 (two).
Friday’s win completed a season sweep of the Blues. Head coach Mallary Clay’s team had previously beaten Asheville School, 57-30, back on January 24.
