Lacrosse Clips Defending State Champion Buford (Ga.)

Never let a captive audience go to waste.

Christ School varsity lacrosse had a bigger-than-usual crowd Saturday for a Family Weekend home game against defending Georgia state champion Buford (Ga.).

Caden Paradine ’25 scored four goals and gave out equally as many assists, with the Greenies holding on for a 9-8 win. Palo Miles ‘27 had a hat trick of his own (three goals) and assisted the final goal, which came off the stick of Thomas Flores ‘27.

All four of Caden’s goals were unassisted, including three in the first half. Christ School was behind, 4-3, at the break.

Nate Wilberding ’25 tied the game at the 10:23 mark of the third quarter and the Greenies (10-4) never trailed again. Still, five consecutive wins was not assured until Jameson Dow ‘27 saved the final shot by the Wolves (11-7) in the game’s last 10 seconds.

Saturday’s win sets the table for the biggest week of the season so far.

The Greenies are home Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. game against Rabun Gap (8-5) and then host Durham Academy (11-2) next Friday in a 4:30 game that could theoretically determine homefield advantage throughout the NCISAA Division I state playoffs.
