Lacrosse Travels to Virginia for Fifth Game

Four games have shown Christ School its potential as well as the other end of the spectrum.

The Greenies (2-2) may be the best varsity lacrosse team in all of North Carolina with a .500 record – they had defending NCISAA Division I state champion Cannon School on the ropes Feb. 28 before a 7-2 halftime lead turned into a 12-10 loss.

Christ School then won a pair of Spring Break matchups in the Atlanta area – 17-8 at Greater Atlanta Christian on March 4 and 8-6 at Centennial on March 6 – before a disappointing 10-9 home loss to Memphis (Tenn.) University on March 9.

“We’re a quarter of the way through the season and it’s time to take it up a notch,” Greenies coach Patrick Haley said.

“There’s a bar, and we dropped below that bar in the last game. Players, coaches, everyone across the board didn’t show up. But there have been stretches like the first half against Cannon, the two games in Atlanta, where we set the bar. And I guess the silver lining is that we have an awareness now of what we need to bring. It can look like that when we play as a team, or it can look like the last game.”

Christ School plays Thursday at 4:15 p.m. at St. Anne’s-Belfield (1-2) in Charlottesville, Va. The team will be stopping in Lynchburg, Va., on the way to get in a practice.

Thursday’s game will be live-streamed on YouTube at this link.

Six different players scored for the Greenies in the Memphis University game, led by a hat trick from Christian Hudson ’23 (three goals), two goals from Caden Paradine ’25, and one each from Carter Martin ’26, Parker Beiland ’24, Jack Shimer ’23, and Aiden Schook ’23.
