ROSWELL, Ga. – Christ School lacrosse came, saw, and conquered Atlanta.
But it required a total team effort given the circumstances.
Six different Greenies scored in Monday night’s 8-6 varsity win at Centennial (Ga.), including two goals apiece from Aiden Schook ’23 and Nate Wilberding ‘25.
“We made our fair share of mistakes, but we covered them up with effort,” Christ School coach Patrick Haley said.
“They played incredibly hard. When you make a team work that hard to get the ball up the field, you’ve done something. And we earned every possession that we had. It wasn’t easy to get that kind of effort out of them. They were tired tonight, but they grinded through it.”
Carter Sherwood ’25 could not take faceoffs due to an injury. Which meant that across the board, every Greenie had to do more.
They did. Especially noteworthy was the play of Lucas Little ’24 in goal, making 14 saves and fending off a flurry of late shots by the Knights (3-2).
Aiden also gave out a pair of assists and Nate had one. The Greenies (2-1) led wire-to-wire after an early goal from Caden Paradine ’25 (one goal, one assist).
The rest of the statistical leaders were: Parker Beiland ‘24 (one goal, two assists), Christian Hudson ’23 (one goal, one assist), Brighton Shook ‘23 (one goal), and Hardy Johnson ‘24 (one assist). Coupled with Saturday's 17-8 win at Greater Atlanta Christian, Christ School went 2-0 on its Spring Break trip to the Atlanta area.
While the rest of the student body is still away, the boys will turn around and host Memphis University School (Tenn.) in a Thursday matinee game at 11:45 a.m., the home opener for Christ School. The game will be livestreamed at this link.
