Morgan MacDonald ’17 always knew he wanted to pursue a career in the military, but it was after he graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy that he set his sights on working in the Air Force Special Tactics field.
The Christ School alumnus has excelled in the intensive Combat Control training pipeline, earning the distinction of wearing a red beret and working with Combat Controllers, Tactical Air Control Party Airmen, Special Reconnaissance Airmen, and Pararescuemen as an assistant team leader who ensures Air Force Special Operations Command is supported from the ground.
Taking a break from the 23 Special Tactics Squadron in Hurlburt Field, Florida, he shared his experience with several Greenies during an on-campus Lunch & Learn on Thursday.
Morgan credits Christ School with giving him the skills and grit to succeed at this ambitious goal.
“Thanks to team sports, AP courses, dorm and student life leadership roles, I often found myself not just meeting but exceeding the physical, academic, leadership, and resilience standards of the Academy and pipeline,” Morgan said.
“Christ School taught me how to lead in a variety of situations and roles, and how to develop myself not just as a student or athlete but as a man.”
