BOSTON - With Rocky Hansen, it's always a matter of time.

The 2023 Christ School alumnus ran a Wake Forest University record in the 5,000 meters (13 minutes, 14.43 seconds) at Saturday’s John Thomas Terrier Classic.

It was Rocky’s first collegiate race indoors at the distance.

The former 10-time state champion from Christ School has battled injuries and sickness in his first year and a half of college but has still managed to flash his potential in moments like Saturday. He was a second team All-American in outdoor track (also in the 5,000) as a freshman.

Rocky is from Hendersonville, N.C., and holds 10 school records at Christ School, from the 800 meters to the 5K (3.1 miles) in cross country.
