Casual observers may think that Christ School lacrosse wins every faceoff. Actually it’s not far from the truth with Sean Dow ’21 handling those duties for the Greenies.
The junior from Simpsonville, S.C., has been named one of the top 25 high school players in the nation by U.S. Lacrosse Magazine. He was one of only five individuals chosen from the Southeast region.
Sean has quite an act to follow this spring. His 2019 winning percentage for faceoffs (82.5 percent) was a state record and essential to last year’s Greenies going 22-2 and winning the NCISAA Division I championship for a third consecutive year. Sean was an all-state selection as a sophomore and the team’s Co-Most Valuable Player along with senior goalkeeper Beau Hecimovich ’20.
He is one of six starters back for Christ School, which will scrimmage Dutch Fork (S.C.), Hough, and Weddington this weekend in the Charlotte area. The Greenies open their regular season Feb. 28 at home against George Washington (W.Va.).
Sean committed to play college lacrosse for Lehigh University in October. Lehigh is currently ranked No. 18 in the country.
