Seth Shuler ’23 proves that age is only a number every time he hits the water.
The Christ School junior is the youngest fly-fishing guide in the state of North Carolina, which is an honor in and of itself.
Readers of the Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine believe that Seth’s ability to find trout is well beyond his years, too, having nominated him for Fly-Fishing Guide of the Year in the publication’s 12th annual “Best of the Blue Ridge” year-end awards.

Seth’s family owns the Fly Fishing the Smokies outfitter and guide service, which has shops in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and his hometown of Bryson City, N.C. This past year was Seth’s first as a guide.
Blue Ridge Outdoors covers the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States, from Pennsylvania to Georgia, and is distributed 11 times a year.
