Seven Student-Athletes Part of Signing Celebration

Signings

Nationwide statistics show that a little over 7 percent of high school athletes go on to play a varsity sport in college.

Christ School has stacked the odds in the favor of its student-athletes for some time now by valuing not only sports performance, but academic excellence and personal growth.

Since 2005, there have been 171 Greenies who have committed or signed with colleges, including 12 from the Class of 2022.

Seven of those seniors were honored Wednesday with a ceremony in Mebane Field House.

“This is such a great opportunity for us,” Athletic Director Eric Thorp ’01 said.

“We have guys represented from several different sports, from places all over. I think it’s important for us to take a moment to recognize the commitment that they have made, not only collegiately, but to Christ School. We’ve got guys who are vocal senior leaders on campus, guys who lead every day in the classroom.”
