Playing a man down for 56 minutes Tuesday put Christ School varsity soccer at a disadvantage, number-wise.

Nothing makes up for a difference in personnel like a couple goals.

A pair of sophomores, Bradley Campbell ’24 and Brendan Regan ’24, did the scoring honors in a 2-0 home win over Carolina Day which allows Christ School (7-4, 3-1) to remain the second-place team in the Carolinas Athletic Association.

Bradley, the oldest son of longtime Greenies coach Guy Campbell ‘00, was perfectly situated in front of the goal to collect a rebound off a free kick with 7:43 remaining in the first half. Brendan kept the Wildcats goalkeeper guessing on a penalty kick with just over two minutes left in the game.

In between the two goals, the Greenie defense held the Wildcats (3-3-1, 1-3) at bay with Ben Yang ’24 and Caleb McClellan ‘23 combining for the clean sheet.

Christ School only had 10 on-field players for the majority of the conference game after being assessed a red card in the first half.

Christ School JV 4, Carolina Day 2

Eighth grader Stonewall Strickland ’26 had his first career hat trick for the Greenies and Ethan Park ‘23 added the fourth goal in Tuesday’s JV game.

The Greenies (1-4) scored four unanswered goals after falling behind 1-0 midway through the first half.
